The Vid-Phone report

Commented yet in the main blog of My Blade Runner collection, this Vid-Phon report is only a starting point to develop a more accurated and complete report about these “futuristic” booths used in the . In fact, only the pictures could be of any use. 20 pages plenty of comments and references are not worthy from a technical point of view. But as a fanzine, and related to the fans, its a perfect piece. It lacks blueprints and so on, but anyway, still interesting as a whole. Mrs. Takeda take a freat effort to acomplish it.

Is wearing more than one in the ? Watching the following pictures, I’m able to confirm, at most, two different hats used. The last one could be the same that appears in the first picture, but… I have a little doubt about it. What do you think?

A JW Bottle tribute

Two long years to produce a unique and fatastique replica of one of the most wanted props in the : The . It’s very nice to see how each of the lucky people that now has one of these rare pieces, has labeled, decorated, filled, and taken of the bottle alone or bundled with some other props related.

I have a dream… :) A pair of pages, perhaps more(?) devoted to these fan , to show the particular devotion of each one of us.

Here is mine. Still unfinished, unlabeled, like the very first day I’ve received it. Cannot think about labeling and so on for now…

Snapshots

The copyright issues are annoying (ever). Thus, Fair Use will be used and forced at maximum… I don’t wanna hurt the Blade Runner Partnership and viceversa (I hope!).

My idea about prop location in the could be as simple as include a capture of the frame where prop appears, but… I don’t wanna publish a clear snapshot of the .

Another approach will be include only a cropped image, or reduced one or so…
Finally, I have another one. Process the snap as it was a cartoon or so. And only show the real thing in the precise location of each prop, like this:

Tell me what do you think please… I love the look and feel!

(this is a reduced image, real one will be at 300dpi or similar – click to zoom)

Pictures (1)

If you want contribute with , take note of this requirements:

Your own :

Color or B/N. The is planned in B/N for now. But color are desired. Just in case…

300 dpi. Printing will be made at maximum quality available and/or possible. If you are using adigital camera, use the finest quality possible, in JPEG format. If your camera supports TIFF format, use it. If you camera support RAW format, use it! I could process any RAW format supported by Adobe Creative Suite CS3 Camera RAW plugin.

If you can, take a picture with neutral background of your props. Side by side, from upper, etc. Use a white background or a “chroma” color, like blue or green. This will be useful to mask the object just in case.

Signed permission for free use of them. A scanned form or letter will be enough to start working with your . A printed permission will be desirable.

Other :

- If you have found some surfing the net, please, supply the original link. I’ll ask for permissions when possible.

- If you capture a snapshot from the , please, take note of time and give me the chance to make the same capture from hi-def version, like Final Cut in HD DVD o BluRay. If snap is from Workprint or Director’s Cut, please note this. Also, in this case the “Fair Use” will be applied, and picture cropped and edited to mark the prop location.

- Any other , drop me a line to examine them case by case.

You could send here, attached to posts. I’ll open an FTP account for ytou if size is too large for this. Simply ask for it.

Hi to all!

This is the Starting Point for an (IMHO) exciting project. A Fan about Blade Runner.
Main subject: props. The real ones (screen used) and the fan mades.
In this project you could say your interests, subjects you would see in, what you could offer (, documents, real props, etc.), and so on.

The dimensiones and weight are a very important issue. It determines costs.
is an issue too. I live in Spain, thus, ALL (about 95%?) will be shipped internationally. Then, cost is an issue…

Choosing right size, number of pages and paper will be an important task.

Color, B/N? Well, main secton of the will be devoted to production shots of the 32 cars. All these pics are B/N. But… perhaps others sections of the will be more feasibles to be at full color… Costs. Ever costs here! I need to have quotes from my printer to knoe if color will be an option or not.

. Also to choose… from paperback (the 1st option, I think) to wired, thru hardcover and so.

Run. I cannot do more than 200 or so (it depends on costs, but, I htink this is the number I will afford, for now). ANY ONE interested MUST SIGN UP in this forum NOW. No money to send. Simply, SIGN UP, as interested. Indicate if you will want 1, 2, 3 … whatever. I need a minimum to make it real. The exact minimum number is not clear now.

But… what will be included in the content? the mission of this ? Well, I wanna include all about detection of props in the (and from the Final Cut release, this is easier than ever). Also, I wanna include info about real props available here and there, and collectors that owns this kind of pieces. Prop makers. People who knows how to make a cast, a paper prop, etc. I think this is a very good info about this hobby called Blade Runner. Also, another subject will be how to identify props in the …. and find them in the real world. It’s not easy to find a Braun Multipress or Czar Smirnoff bottle… por example.

And other subjects you could suggest in this forum.

From all these, I will compose an ideal layout with and , calculate an aproximate number of pages, and all of them will pass thru printer consdiderations to give me a cost for volume.

More to come….
