Tyrell Corp. props

After some hassles and issues with mail service, today is a great day. Received a big box with two pyramid parts inside. They was casted from originals molds, as the companion letter saids. The pieces measures 130×368 mm and 60×155 mm. Color match the and the details are awesome!

Letter follows:

To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is to state some background information on the Blade Runner building castings. The molds for both of these pieces came from Mr. Eric Stohl who had worked on films such as Armageddon, Broken Arrow, Total Recall, The Hudsucker Proxy, among other films. Mr. Stohl had worked with Mark Stetson at Stetson Visual Services p.n. a number of films and it was from Mark Stetson (Blade Runner 1982 Chief Model Maker) that Mr. Stohl had acquired these molds. Extra Blade Runner castings were also used by the effects crew to decorate many of the Mars buildings in the film Total Recall.

I personally worked with Mr. Stohl at mattel inc. between the years of 2000-2003. He had at the time brought into Mattel all of his castings and molds from his time with Mark Stetson. The 2 Blade Runner pieces you have purchased came from Eric Stohl’s personal collection. We had intended on building a replica of the Building with Spinner models and these parts were never used. They were painted and weathered very accurately to the real miniature model made for the film Blade Runner.

Best regards,

Timeline

Well, working again in the book… at last… :D Now, making order in my mind and ideas, i’m taking notes from the very first second of the to the end…. and annotating the appearance of each prop scene by scene. From the beginning to Pris scene, I have 80 props identified, more or less. Note that I take note only of props available as objects, replicas or fan handmade for now. Also brands in the and some other interesting data, like “numbers”, very present in all the content.

First draft

The very first draft started, at last! Yeah… finally I decide to start from scratch, in English (a difficult task, I know, but… necessary to avoid the ‘faulty translation syndrome’ if I wrote in in Spanish and then translate). Each language will have a different literary treatment, I guess.

Well, for now, no images involved, only my own experience in props. How I meet them and so on. A very complex story about collections and obssesions. A journey thru the discovery of a hobby from start to now… and a bunch of different tasks between, each one more interesting, if possible, than others.

Primer borrador

The Vid-Phone report

Commented yet in the main blog of My Blade Runner collection, this Vid-Phon report is only a starting point to develop a more accurated and complete report about these “futuristic” booths used in the . In fact, only the could be of any use. 20 pages plenty of comments and references are not worthy from a technical point of view. But as a fanzine, and related to the fans, its a perfect piece. It lacks blueprints and so on, but anyway, still interesting as a whole. Mrs. Takeda take a freat effort to acomplish it.
